A crash and a broken pelvis at the 2012 Dauphiné took away Andy’s chances to race the Tour de France, in which he has previously stood three times on the podium. Not one to dwell on the past, the 2010 Tour winner is ready for the new season.
The will of the younger of cycling’s most prominent duo of brothers to win races does not stop with the Grand Tours. Rather he holds a big appetite for the hilly classics and has carted away a win in Liège–Bastogne–Liège in 2009. In 2011 he finished third, behind Philippe Gilbert and his brother Fränk in the Queen of the Ardennes Classics.
Andy Schleck has had to deal with huge expectations and a certain amount of fame from a very young age. At age 21 he finished on the podium of his first ever Grand Tour, the Giro d’Italia. A tall and slender climber, Andy has the talent to win uphill and the determination to improve himself in the Time Trials. Coming from a family and a country that holds cycling in its heart, Andy is one of the indisputable captains of RADIOSHACK LEOPARD TREK.
