Having made his pro tour debut in the Giro d'Italia last year, Jesse Sergent showed his class afterwards by obtaining the bronze medal at the Olympic Games in London with the New Zealand's men's pursuit team.
With that team he has already won the bronze medal at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing. In 2010 Jesse Sergent obtained silver at the World Pursuit Championships.
After winning the road Time Trial stage in the Tour of the Gila over specialists Levi Leipheimer and Dave Zabriskie, he earned a contract for the 2011 Team RadioShack. He had a brilliant first year on the pro circuit. Not only has he won three Time Trial stages (including one in the Eneco WorldTour race), he also went on to win two overall titles in Three Days of West Flanders and Tour du Poitou-Charentes.
